Seeking to Reduce Contamination in Production Lines (Converting Machines) |
| |
We are seeking to reduce contamination in our production lines (converting machines). The specific machines use diverse web materials (mainly non-woven based) to produce our products. The materials come to our machines in a planetary roll form. Those rolls would be unwound and conveyed through the converting processes (combining, cutting…) to form final products. Within this process, the web materials release different sources of contamination (e.g. dust &/or fibers) causing accumulation of contamination in all places of the machine where it can settle. With the late changes of materials, we have seen a substantial increase in contamination. As a result, we need to move cleaning times from 8 hour intervals (10 minute cleaning with 2 operators) to less than 6 hour intervals (>15min cleaning with 4 people). In order to maintain operability standards and productivity, we are seeking methods to return to 8 hour cleaning intervals. |
Seeking Glue-free and Plastic-free closure of paper packaging |
| |
We are looking for a technology to seal paper packaging materials (paper only with no plastic coating) without using traditional glues or any other additive. For a sustainable packaging application, we're looking for a technology to seal or crimp kraft paper without using glue or plastic coating applied on the paper. Ideally, we want to seal 100% untreated paper without adding any other chemicals. Our preferred solution would be a folding of the packaging material |
Seeking existing market solutions targeted towards crawling insects |
| |
The issue of crawling insects in homes has been an ongoing issue. The popular types of crawling insects causing problems have been ants and cockroaches. The search will focus on existing market solutions targeted towards crawling insects such as ants and cockroaches (other types of crawling insects are in scope i.e., bed bugs). |
Ecological concretes and mortars |
| |
A multidisciplinary public-private research consortium has developed a simple and innovative process to transform submerged arc welding slag waste into activated materials (geopolymers) that can be used as environmentally friendly substitutes for Portland cement to manufacture concrete or mortar-based construction materials. These new materials are characterised by low production costs, are environmentally friendly, sustainable, do not generate waste in their production process, and have excellent physico-chemical properties. Companies interested in acquiring this technology for its commercial exploitation are sought. |
Production of chymosins from camel and bovine origin using recombinant yeast strains |
| |
The use of chymosins for the production of cheese and cheese derivatives from milk has been known for years, and nowadays this technique has completely substituted the use of calf rennet. Biochemize SL has developed several recombinant yeast and bacteria strains able to express chymosins from bovine (chymosin A and chymosin B) and from camel origin, with very good expression levels (between 0,1 and 3 g/L) and activity. |
Low-cost sensorised device for (tele-)rehabilitation |
| |
The "Human Robotics" research group at the University of Alicante has developed a sensorised device for the rehabilitation of a body limb (preferably the upper limb). This device consists of an elastic textile covering and inertial and electromyographic sensors attached to it, with which the patient's improvement will be monitored and evaluated, also allowing to adjust the exercises of simulated games, based on virtual reality and/or augmented reality applications. The system constitutes an integrated rehabilitation tool for people with mobility problems in the upper limb, easy to use and based on user motivation. The technology, which is protected under patent application, has been developed at laboratory scale and a prototype is available for demonstration. Companies interested in the commercial exploitation of the device are sought. |
